Audi India is gearing up for the launch of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback electric SUVs on August 18th. These models represent a facelift of Audi’s first electric SUV, the e-tron, and come in two trims, namely the ’50’ and ’55’. The major improvement in this update is the claimed range, which has now been extended to an impressive 600 kilometers.
Audi Q8 e-tron powertrain and range
Under the hood, both versions of the Q8 e-tron SUVs feature a dual-motor setup. The ’50’ trim delivers 340 horsepower and 664Nm of torque (combined) with a 95kWh battery. This configuration allows the SUV and Sportback models to achieve a claimed range of up to 491km and 505km, respectively.
On the other hand, the higher-spec ’55’ trim boasts a more powerful performance, producing 408 horsepower and 664Nm of torque (combined) from the two electric motors. With a larger 114kWh battery, the ’55’ trim achieves an impressive claimed range of up to 582km for the SUV and an even better 600km for the Sportback.
Audi has equipped both models with a 22kW AC charger and the ability to support up to 170kW DC fast charging. Additionally, the charging ports are conveniently placed on either side of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback.
Audi Q8 e-tron features
In terms of features, the Q8 e-tron models offer a luxurious and advanced interior. Notable features include powered front seats with memory, heating, ventilation, and massage functions, as well as dual touchscreens in the center console.
The infotainment system comes with a 10.1-inch display, and there’s an 8.6-inch unit for controlling the HVAC system. Audi has also included a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, four-zone climate control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Audi Q8 e-tron rivals
With the discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz EQC, the main competitor for the Audi Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback is the Jaguar I-Pace, which is priced between Rs 1.19 crore to 1.24 crore.
With these updates and improvements, Audi aims to strengthen its position in the electric SUV market and cater to consumers seeking a blend of luxury, performance, and eco-friendliness.
