Aston Martin Vantage Facelift Revealed: Gains 155hp and a New Interior

Aston Martin has unveiled a significantly revamped version of the Vantage as part of a broader effort to update its sports car lineup. The refreshed coupe boasts substantial improvements under the hood and within the cabin, aligning with Aston’s strategy to enhance both performance and technological features.

Design Enhancements

Visually, the updated Vantage stands out with a 30mm increase in width and a redesigned front end featuring a larger grille and updated matrix LED headlights. Additional design elements include decorative side strakes, frameless mirrors, and flush electronic door handles.

Interior Upgrades

Inside the cabin, the Vantage receives a complete overhaul with a focus on connectivity, engagement, and refinement. A new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, developed in-house by Aston Martin, takes center stage. The system offers advanced connectivity features such as 3D live mapping, wireless smartphone mirroring, and last-mile on-foot navigation. Despite the digital advancements, physical switches remain for essential functions like climate control and drive settings.

Powertrain Improvements

The most significant update comes in the form of a substantial power increase for the Vantage’s Mercedes-AMG-derived V8 engine. With output boosted to 665hp and 800Nm of torque, the Vantage now rivals the performance of the outgoing V12 model, achieving a 0-100kph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 325kph. This power increase is the result of extensive tuning, including new cam profiles, improved cooling, and larger turbochargers.

Suspension and Handling

To complement the power boost, Aston Martin has upgraded the Vantage’s suspension with new adaptive dampers and a stiffer rear end. These enhancements promise improved handling balance, driver feedback, and refinement. Bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires, wrapped around 21-inch forged alloy wheels, complete the chassis upgrades.

Future Plans

While there are no immediate plans for electrification, Aston Martin may explore options in the future. Currently, the brand offers a range of models in India, including the DB12, DBX, DBX 707, and the pre-facelift Vantage.

The Aston Martin Vantage facelift represents a significant step forward in performance, technology, and design, further solidifying the brand’s position in the luxury sports car market.
