Salman Khan is a Bollywood megastar known not only for his acting skills but also for his extravagant lifestyle. One of the many things that Salman Khan is known for is his impressive car collection, which includes a new addition – a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV.
The Nissan Patrol is a flagship SUV from the Japanese manufacturer that is not sold in India but is popular in Gulf nations and Southeast Asian countries. It is believed that Salman Khan may have privately imported the SUV from the international market, as he was seen traveling in it with his entourage on the streets of Mumbai.
The Nissan Patrol that Salman Khan purchased is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 405hp and 560Nm of torque. The SUV comes with a four-wheel drive system and a rear-locking differential as standard. It is internationally known as one of the best choices for bulletproofing, making it a solid and safe choice for the superstar.
The current-generation Patrol has been sold in foreign regions since 2010 and underwent a second redesign by the end of 2019, which improved its front end. This tank of an SUV measures in at 5.1m long and nearly 2m wide, providing plenty of space for all three rows of seats.
Prior to the Nissan Patrol, Salman Khan was seen rolling around Mumbai in a previous generation bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser, which was believed to have offered an international standard of protection level with ratings of VR9 or VR10. The details of that particular vehicle were not publicized.
Salman Khan’s car collection doesn’t stop at the Nissan Patrol and the Toyota Land Cruiser. He also owns a white Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography long-wheelbase, powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that generates a maximum of 254 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 600 Nm at 2,250 rpm. In addition to SUVs, Salman Khan also has a thing for fast cars. He is an Audi India ambassador and owns an Audi RS7 Sportback, which he launched in 2014. The red car he showed off at the launch is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that cranks out 555bhp and 700Nm of torque. The Audi RS7 can go from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h, which can be raised to 305km/h through the optional dynamic package plus set-up.
Salman Khan is also an avid motorbike enthusiast and owns two of the most iconic superbikes – the Suzuki Hayabusa and the Suzuki Intruder M1800R. The Hayabusa is powered by a 1.3-liter liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that develops between 173bhp to 197bhp depending on the generation of the bike.
