Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, recently opened up about his impulsive buying habits and how he has learned to be more practical and mature about his purchases. In an interview with RCB’s YouTube channel, Kohli talked about his experiences with owning cars and how he has come to value practicality over material possessions.
Kohli, who is known for his extravagant lifestyle and love for luxury cars, revealed that most of the cars he has owned over the years were impulsive buys that he later ended up selling. “Beyond a point, I was like this is pointless, so I ended up selling most of them and now we only use what we absolutely need to,” he said.
This admission from Kohli shows that even successful sports stars like him are not immune to the allure of material possessions. However, it also demonstrates his growing maturity and self-awareness, as he recognizes the value of practicality and minimalism.
Kohli’s reflections on his buying habits also reflect his approach to cricket. Despite being one of the most talented and successful cricketers of his generation, Kohli has never been satisfied with resting on his laurels. He is constantly striving to improve and reach his full potential, just as he is now trying to be more practical and mindful in his personal life.
This mindset will be crucial for Kohli and RCB as they head into the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. After a disappointing campaign last season, Kohli will be looking to lead his team to greater heights and prove that he still has what it takes to be a match-winner.
As he himself said, “There’s still a lot of room to get to my best which hopefully happens in the IPL if I am able to get to the level I want to play at and help the team and it will be exciting.”
