The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a slight revision in the price of the FASTag Annual Pass. Starting April 1, 2026, the cost of the pass will increase from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075. The annual pass is designed for non-commercial vehicles and allows users to travel across national highways and expressways more conveniently.
The FASTag Annual Pass can be used at nearly 1,150 toll plazas across the country and eliminates the need for frequent toll payments by offering a lump-sum payment option.
FASTag Annual Pass: Validity and Usage
Introduced on August 15, 2025, the FASTag Annual Pass was launched to simplify toll payments for frequent highway users. With a single payment, private vehicle owners can use national highways without repeatedly paying toll charges.
The pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first. Considering that toll charges at many plazas start at around Rs 70 and can exceed Rs 200 in some locations, the annual pass can offer considerable savings for people who travel regularly on highways.
According to NHAI, the FASTag Annual Pass has seen strong adoption since its launch, with more than 56 lakh users already purchasing the plan.
Where and How to Buy the FASTag Annual Pass
Vehicle owners can purchase or renew the FASTag Annual Pass online through the official NHAI website or via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application. The app is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.
Importantly, buyers do not need to purchase a new FASTag. The annual pass can be activated on an existing FASTag once the vehicle and the linked tag are verified for eligibility.
Important FASTag Guidelines for Vehicle Owners
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has outlined several guidelines that vehicle owners must follow to ensure smooth usage of the FASTag system. The tag must be properly affixed on the vehicle’s windshield and should be linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN).
FASTag is strictly non-transferable and can only be used on the vehicle with which it is registered. Any attempt to use the tag on another vehicle may result in the FASTag being deactivated.
With the revised pricing coming into effect in April 2026, the FASTag Annual Pass continues to remain a practical option for regular highway commuters looking for a seamless toll payment experience.
