Hero Vida VXZ Electric Bike Design Patented in India: What We Know So Far

Hero’s electric mobility brand Vida has taken a significant step towards entering the electric motorcycle space in India. Following its global unveiling at EICMA 2025, the Vida VXZ electric motorcycle concept has now had its design officially patented in India, offering a clearer look at what could eventually reach production.

Vida VXZ: From Concept to Patent Filing

The Vida VXZ made its first public appearance at EICMA 2025, where it marked Vida’s debut into high-performance electric motorcycles. The latest design patent confirms that the concept wasn’t just a showpiece and that development work is actively underway.

The patent drawings reveal several production-intent elements, hinting that the overall styling may remain largely unchanged when the bike finally goes on sale.

Street-Naked Electric Motorcycle Design

The Vida VXZ is positioned as a street-naked electric motorcycle, featuring a muscular and sporty stance. Key design highlights revealed through the patent include:

  • Upside-down (USD) front forks

  • Rear monoshock suspension

  • Large front disc brake with radial-mounted caliper

  • Rear disc brake setup

  • 5-spoke alloy wheels

  • Battery housing positioned where a conventional engine would normally sit

At the rear, the VXZ uses a compact tail section inspired by Hero’s latest sporty motorcycles, with the number plate and turn indicators mounted on a tyre-hugger for a clean, aggressive look.

Headlamp Design Also Patented

Alongside the full motorcycle design, Vida has also patented the VXZ’s headlight unit separately. It features the brand’s distinctive ‘V’ LED signature with a centrally mounted mono-projector. This lighting design was previously teased during the concept’s global reveal and reinforces Vida’s evolving electric design language.

Collaboration with Zero Motorcycles

An important aspect of the VXZ project is Vida’s technical collaboration with Zero Motorcycles, a globally renowned electric motorcycle brand. This partnership is expected to play a key role in developing future electric motorcycles in the 350cc-equivalent and higher segments.

According to earlier reports, multiple electric motorcycle models born out of this collaboration are planned for 2026–2027, with the VXZ likely to be among the first.

Powertrain and Performance: Still Under Wraps

As of now, Vida has not revealed any details regarding the VXZ’s motor output, battery capacity, range, or performance figures. However, given its premium hardware and international collaboration, expectations are high for competitive performance suitable for urban and highway use.

India Launch Timeline

While there is no official launch date yet, the filing of multiple design patents strongly suggests that Vida is moving steadily towards production readiness. More details regarding specifications, variants, and pricing are expected to emerge closer to its market debut.
