TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Launched at ₹99,900

TVS Motor has expanded its EV lineup with the introduction of the Orbiter, priced at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru, inclusive of PM e-Drive benefits). Positioned below the iQube, the Orbiter now becomes the most affordable gateway into TVS’ electric scooter range.

Key Highlights

  • Price: ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)

  • 3.1kWh battery with 158km IDC-rated range

  • Larger 14-inch front wheel for added stability

  • Cruise control and connected features as standard

Battery, Range, and Performance

The Orbiter is available in a single variant, powered by a 3.1kWh battery pack. TVS claims an IDC range of 158km, which should translate to around 120km of real-world riding based on our experience with the iQube. For comparison, the smaller 2.2kWh iQube delivers an IDC range of 94km and returned 76.4km in Eco mode during real-world testing.

While TVS has yet to disclose full motor specifications, the company has confirmed a top speed of 68kph.

Tech and Features

Despite being the entry-level model in TVS’ EV lineup, the Orbiter comes well-equipped with modern conveniences. It includes:

  • Cruise control as standard

  • Eco and Power riding modes

  • Hill-hold and reverse assist (parking assist)

  • Connected features via mobile app, including turn-by-turn navigation, OTA updates, anti-theft alerts, crash notifications, and geo-fencing

Design and Practicality

Visually, the Orbiter adopts a boxy, minimalist design. A large single-piece side panel flows from the front apron to the tail, while the handlebar-mounted LED headlamp is paired with a bold LED strip across the apron, reminiscent of the Jupiter’s styling cues.

On the practicality front, TVS has ensured family-friendly usability:

  • 34-litre underseat storage, large enough for two helmets

  • 290mm flat floorboard for added convenience

The scooter will be offered in six colour options, further enhancing its appeal for urban commuters.

Market Positioning

With its focus on practicality, connected tech, and affordability, the TVS Orbiter is aimed at families and daily commuters, competing directly with scooters like the Ather Rizta, while undercutting many rivals on price.
