Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Celebration Edition launched at ₹1.30 crore

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced a special edition of its flagship electric luxury sedan – the EQS 580 Celebration Edition, priced at ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom). Limited to just 50 units, this exclusive model commemorates the brand’s 73% surge in EV sales during the first five months of 2025.

Enhanced Rear Seat Experience

A key highlight of this limited-run EQS 580 is its focus on rear-seat comfort. The Celebration Edition includes a Rear Seat Comfort Package, offering multi-contour rear seats with massage functions, lumbar support, and up to 38 degrees of recline. The addition of the Chauffeur Package also allows rear passengers to electronically adjust the front passenger seat, enhancing legroom and convenience.

Premium Interior Touches

The cabin is upholstered in high-grade Nappa leather as standard, with exclusive touches like designer seatbelt buckles. It also features the advanced MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation system, which overlays turn-by-turn directions on a live video feed of the road, making navigation more intuitive and immersive.

No Exterior Changes

Visually, the Celebration Edition remains identical to the standard EQS 580. It retains the sleek, aerodynamic silhouette, illuminated grille panel, LED lighting elements, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a continuous rear light bar. The EV measures 5,216mm in length, 2,125mm in width, and 1,512mm in height, with a generous 3,210mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 124mm.

Powertrain, Performance & Range

Under the hood (or rather, under the floor), the Celebration Edition continues to be powered by a 107.8kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors, one on each axle, delivering a total output of 544hp and 858Nm. This all-wheel-drive setup enables a 0-100kph sprint in a claimed 4.3 seconds, despite the car’s substantial 2.6-tonne weight.

Where it truly shines is in range: the EQS 580 boasts an ARAI-certified range of 817km, the highest of any electric vehicle currently on sale in India.

Charging Options

The EQS 580 supports both 7.4kW and 11kW AC charging, which can recharge the battery fully in 11 to 17 hours, depending on the charger. It also supports 200kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in just 31 minutes.

Verdict

With the EQS 580 Celebration Edition, Mercedes-Benz isn’t just offering a luxury EV – it’s emphasizing exclusivity, comfort, and cutting-edge tech for rear passengers, while celebrating a milestone in its electric journey in India. For those seeking the pinnacle of electric luxury and don’t mind the premium price tag, this special edition adds an extra layer of desirability to an already impressive package.
