Honda has introduced the CB750 Hornet in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹8.60 lakh (Gurugram), further expanding its BigWing lineup with yet another premium offering.
The CB750 Hornet is closely related to the XL750 Transalp adventure bike and borrows its powertrain—a 755cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This motor produces 92hp at 9,500rpm and 75Nm of torque at 7,250rpm, offering a dynamic performance package for roadster enthusiasts.
Chassis and Equipment
The Hornet features a 41mm Showa telescopic front fork and a monoshock at the rear for suspension duties. Braking is handled by twin 296mm front discs with radially mounted calipers, along with a 240mm rear disc. It rolls on 17-inch wheels fitted with Michelin Road 6 tyres (120-section front and 160-section rear), offering a sporty and planted ride.
Weighing 192kg (with a full 15.2-litre fuel tank), the CB750 Hornet is relatively light for its segment. Its seat height stands at a comfortable 795mm, though the ground clearance of 140mm may require some caution on uneven roads.
Features and Technology
The bike comes well-equipped with a host of modern features. It includes a 5.0-inch full-color TFT display, Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control), a slipper clutch, and four riding modes—Sport, Standard, Rain, and User. The all-LED lighting setup enhances visibility and style, while a bidirectional quickshifter is available as an optional accessory.
Segment Positioning and Competition
With its pricing and feature set, the CB750 Hornet carves out a niche for itself in the Indian market. Its most direct competition comes from within Honda’s own stable—the CB650R. While the CB650R has a slightly smaller engine, it’s the only four-cylinder option in this displacement range currently available in India.
Deliveries for the Honda CB750 Hornet are set to begin in June.
