Jaguar Type 00 Concept to Make India Debut on June 14

Jaguar is bringing its bold new vision to Indian shores with the Type 00 electric concept, set to be showcased in Mumbai on June 14. First revealed globally in December last year, the Type 00 is a radical design study that previews the British marque’s future all-electric line-up. Since its global debut in Miami, the concept has toured major cities including Paris and Monaco, and will continue its world tour through Munich and Tokyo before arriving in India.

A Glimpse into Jaguar’s Future

The Type 00 concept represents more than just a new model—it’s a symbol of Jaguar’s complete transformation as it enters the electric era. The name itself—‘00’—is symbolic, representing both zero emissions and a fresh start for the brand. With this concept, Jaguar is signaling a distinct shift in design language and product philosophy.

Built on an all-new EV platform called Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), the Type 00 serves as the foundation for the brand’s upcoming electric range. It’s a bold, futuristic concept featuring a striking, polarising design that has already sparked much conversation globally. The version arriving in India will be finished in a vivid blue exterior shade.

First Production Model: A Four-Door Electric GT

Jaguar has already begun road-testing its first production EV based on this new design language—a four-door grand tourer. Test mules spotted in the UK hint at a long bonnet, rear-set cabin, coupe-style roofline, and upright front end. The car also features a compact boot lid and large wheels, further emphasizing its premium GT stance.

This grand tourer will be the first to utilise the JEA platform, which is targeting an impressive 770km range (WLTP) and rapid-charging capability that can add up to 321km of range in just 15 minutes.

India Launch Timeline

The production version of the electric GT is slated to debut globally in late 2025, with sales starting first in key markets like the UK and US. An India launch is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, as part of the second phase of the global rollout.

Positioned as a flagship model, this four-door GT will lead Jaguar’s new EV push. It will act as a brand-defining vehicle, with more accessible electric models expected to follow in subsequent years.
