2025 Kawasaki Versys 650 Launched In India: Details, Price, and More

Kawasaki has introduced the 2025 Versys 650 in India, priced at Rs 7,93,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This updated model will be sold alongside the 2024 version and comes at a premium of Rs 16,000 over the previous year’s bike.

What’s New?

The most notable update for 2025 is the addition of a Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Grey colour option. Unlike the typical Kawasaki green-heavy designs, the new shade gives the Versys 650 a more understated and mature look, with grey taking centre stage. Mechanically, however, the bike remains identical to the 2024 version.

Engine and Performance

The 2025 Versys 650 continues to be powered by the trusted 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, producing 67PS at 8,500rpm and 61Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. This engine has earned praise for its strong low-end performance, smooth power delivery, impressive refinement, and effective heat management. Paired with an upright riding position and a generous 21-litre fuel tank, the Versys 650 remains a top choice for long-distance touring enthusiasts.

Hardware and Features

Built on a diamond-type frame, the Versys 650 is equipped with a 41mm inverted front fork (offering rebound and preload adjustability) and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 120-section front and 160-section rear tyres. Braking duties are handled by twin 300mm petal discs at the front and a 250mm petal disc at the rear.

In terms of features, the Versys comes well-equipped with:

  • All-LED lighting

  • 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity

  • 4-position adjustable windscreen for enhanced wind protection

  • Dual-channel ABS

  • Two-level traction control system

These additions ensure that the Versys 650 remains competitive and rider-friendly, especially for those planning extensive road trips.

Should You Go for the 2025 Model?

Despite the new colour scheme, there aren’t any mechanical or feature upgrades compared to the 2024 model. Interestingly, Kawasaki is offering the 2024 Versys 650 with a Rs 20,000 discount valid until May 31, 2025. This means you can get the 2024 model for Rs 7,57,000, making it Rs 36,000 cheaper than the newly launched 2025 version — without sacrificing anything except the new paint job.

Compared to its competitors like the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the Honda XL750 Transalp, the Versys 650 offers fantastic value, especially for those who prioritize comfortable highway cruising. However, it’s worth noting that the Transalp offers superior off-road capabilities.
