Kawasaki has officially introduced the 2025 Ninja 650 in India, priced at ₹7.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model features a fresh new livery and now adheres to the more stringent OBD-2B emission norms. This update brings a price increase of ₹11,000 over the previous model.
What’s New for 2025?
While the core design remains unchanged, the Ninja 650 receives a bold visual refresh. The new paint scheme—green with white and yellow highlights—draws inspiration from the styling of Kawasaki’s bigger supersport siblings, the ZX-10R and ZX-6R. This fresh livery adds a sportier edge to the familiar silhouette, even though the overall design language is still from the previous generation.
Price Revisions and Emissions Compliance
The 2024 Ninja 650 was last priced at ₹7.16 lakh, and with the new updates, the 2025 model now carries a tag of ₹7.27 lakh. The ₹11,000 hike accounts primarily for the new OBD-2B compliance. Notably, Kawasaki had recently offered the 2024 model at a ₹45,000 discount, so prospective buyers might want to check with local dealers for any remaining stock.
No Mechanical Changes
Despite the updates, the 2025 Ninja 650 retains its familiar mechanical setup. It continues to be powered by the same 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine delivering 68hp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm of torque at 6,400rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. There are no tweaks to the chassis or ride dynamics either.
Updates Across the Lineup
In addition to the Ninja 650, Kawasaki has also upgraded the Ninja 500 and the Eliminator to meet the latest OBD-2B norms, which became mandatory from April 1, 2025. While the Ninja 500’s price remains unchanged (after a recent ₹5,000 hike), the Eliminator now costs ₹14,000 more than before.
Bookings Open Now
Bookings for the 2025 Ninja 650, as well as the updated Ninja 500 and Eliminator, are now open across India. Buyers looking for a deal might still be able to find unsold 2024 units at select dealerships.
