Honda Elevate Black Edition Likely to Launch This Month

Honda is gearing up to introduce the Elevate Black Edition, with production-ready models already spotted. Industry insiders suggest that pricing details could be revealed by the end of January 2025, signaling an imminent market debut.

A Sleek All-Black Aesthetic

Positioned as the top-spec variant, the Elevate Black Edition sports a striking all-black exterior with a combination of matte and glossy finishes. The only contrasting elements are chrome accents on the Honda logo and Elevate branding. While the interior hasn’t been officially revealed, it’s anticipated to feature an entirely black-themed cabin, including the dashboard, headliner, door panels, and seats.

Familiar Underpinnings

Under the hood, the Black Edition retains the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a manual or CVT automatic transmission. There are no mechanical updates, maintaining the proven formula of the standard Elevate.

Accelerating the Launch to Boost Sales

Originally slated for a March 2025 launch, Honda has advanced the release of the Elevate Black Edition to stimulate sales. Despite its recent debut, the midsize SUV has struggled to make a significant impact, averaging just 1,500 units per month—far behind rivals like the Hyundai Creta, which consistently clocks over 15,000 units monthly. The Black Edition follows the Elevate Apex Edition as Honda’s latest attempt to bolster the lineup’s appeal.

Pricing and Competition

The Elevate Black Edition is expected to command a premium of ₹75,000–₹80,000 over its corresponding variant. In the midsize SUV segment, its direct competitors include the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and MG Astor Blackstorm, both of which feature similar all-black themes.

With the new variant, Honda aims to attract a style-conscious audience while revitalizing the Elevate’s position in the competitive midsize SUV market.
