TVS Ntorq 150 India Launch Confirmed For September 4

After months of speculation, TVS has officially confirmed the launch of its much-awaited Ntorq 150 on September 4. The scooter, which has long been anticipated since first reports surfaced in May, will mark TVS’s entry into the fast-growing 150-170cc sporty scooter category.

A Step Up From the 125cc Benchmark

The Ntorq 125 has built a strong reputation as India’s go-to performance-oriented 125cc scooter, and the upcoming Ntorq 150 is expected to raise the bar further. Positioned as a rival to the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155, TVS is clearly aiming at enthusiasts who want more power and sharper dynamics from their daily ride.

Design Teaser Reveals Aggressive Styling

TVS has released a teaser image that showcases the scooter’s quad-LED headlamp cluster with a split setup, hinting that the new Ntorq will carry forward the sporty, edgy styling of its smaller sibling. The familiar aggressive stance will now be complemented by a bigger motor and updated hardware.

Engine: Liquid-Cooled or Air-Cooled?

One of the biggest talking points is whether TVS will opt for a liquid-cooled engine like its rivals or stick to an air-cooled setup for a more affordable price tag.

  • A liquid-cooled motor would put the Ntorq 150 head-to-head with the Aerox and Xoom in terms of outright performance.

  • An air-cooled unit could allow TVS to keep costs competitive while still offering a meaningful step up from the 125.

Safety & Features

Given that Indian regulations mandate ABS for scooters above 150cc, the Ntorq 150 will come with at least single-channel ABS as standard. Additional features are likely to include TVS’s SmartXonnect Bluetooth system, ride telemetry, and possibly new ride modes.

Price & Market Positioning

With the Yamaha Aerox 155 priced at ₹1.51 lakh and the Hero Xoom 160 at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Ntorq 150 is expected to be priced in a similar range, giving buyers yet another sporty alternative in this growing segment.

The 150cc Scooter Battle Heats Up

The 150-170cc scooter market has seen steady growth in India, with models like the Aerox, Xoom, and Aprilia SR 175 gaining popularity. With the arrival of the TVS Ntorq 150, competition in this niche but exciting space is set to get even fiercer.
