24 January 2023, New Delhi: Statiq, India’s largest EV charging network, has signed an agreement with Zoomcar, the leading marketplace for car sharing in emerging markets. This is a big step forward for EV travel in the country.
Under this deal, Statiq and Zoomcar will let EV owners host on Zoomcar and earn extra money by letting guests use their cars. The Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) would be the first place this agreement would be tested. After that, it would be brought to Mumbai, Bangalore, and other places. EV owners who want to rent out their cars can now list them as hosts on Zoomcar’s app. Statiq supports this change by making a network of charging stations that are easy to get to, affordable, and reliable. The move is also expected to speed up and encourage more people in the country to buy EVs.
“This partnership with Zoomcar is another important step on our way to getting more people in India to use electric vehicles. This partnership will give the EV charging ecosystem a much-needed boost. At the same time, it will make EVs more popular among people who don’t already own one. This will help the public develop a culture of clean transportation. And as we set up more and more fast charging stations in the country, range anxiety will be a thing of the past for EV drivers,” said Mr. Akshit Bansal, Co-founder and CEO of Statiq.
“At Zoomcar, we try to be the first to come up with new ideas that can help shape the transportation industry. We’re excited to work with Statiq to speed up our EV-based shared mobility services and give our hosts a better customer value proposition. We’re sure that this partnership will make EV sharing easy for both our host customers and our guest customers.” CEO and Co-Founder of Zoomcar Greg Moran said,
