December 2025 Car Launches in India
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Launch Date: December 2
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the brand’s first electric SUV, is finally ready for launch. Unveiled in production form at Auto Expo 2025, the EV will debut with a 174hp front-wheel-drive motor paired with a 61kWh battery. Maruti claims an ARAI-certified range of more than 500km.
A more affordable variant featuring a 144hp motor and a 49kWh battery is also expected to join the lineup later. The dual-motor AWD version will not be part of the initial rollout and is planned for a future date.
2. Tata Harrier and Safari Turbo-Petrol
Launch Date: December 9
Tata Motors is introducing a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine to the Harrier and Safari lineup. This engine was first seen in the 2025 Sierra and produces 160hp and 255Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox supplied by AISIN.
Notably, Tata had originally showcased this engine at Auto Expo 2023 with higher output figures—170hp and 280Nm. It remains to be seen which state of tune will make it to the Harrier and Safari. These models will continue to offer the 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine as well.
3. MG Hector Facelift (Second Update)

MG is preparing a second facelift for the Hector, which first launched in 2019 and received its first major update in 2023. The 2025 facelift is expected to bring updated styling elements and a few added features to keep the SUV competitive in the segment.
The powertrain lineup will remain unchanged, with the familiar 143hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 170hp 2.0-litre diesel engines continuing with manual and automatic transmission options.
4. New Mini Cooper Convertible
Expected: Mid to Late December
Mini will introduce the 2025 Cooper Convertible in India, with bookings already open since November 19. Based on the 2-door Cooper S, the convertible will be powered by a 204hp, 300Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
While the standard Cooper S starts at ₹43.7 lakh (ex-showroom), the convertible is expected to be priced at around ₹50 lakh.

Next-Generation Kia Seltos
Global Reveal: December 10
Kia is set to unveil the next-generation Seltos globally, with the India launch planned for the first half of 2026.
