Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Ola Electric has announced a substantial price reduction of up to Rs 25,000 for its S1 scooter line-up. However, this attractive offer is valid only for the month of February.
Models Affected
The price reduction is applicable to the S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1 X+ (3kWh) models. Notably, the S1 X+ model had already received a price cut of Rs 20,000 in December 2023, bringing its original price of Rs 99,999 down to Rs 89,999. Now, with an additional discount of Rs 25,000, the current price stands at Rs 84,999.
Company Statement
An Ola Electric spokesperson explained the rationale behind the price reduction, stating, “On the back of a strong vertically integrated in-house technology and manufacturing capabilities, we have been able to restructure costs and decided to pass on the benefits to customers. Priced equivalently to leading internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters, we are confident that customers will now have no reason to buy an ICE scooter.”
Additional Initiatives
In a bid to enhance customer satisfaction, Ola Electric introduced a new 8-year/80,000 km extended battery warranty for its entire product range earlier this month, with no additional cost to customers. Furthermore, the company has ambitious plans to expand its service network by approximately 50%, increasing the current nationwide total of 414 service centers to around 600 by April 2024.
