Nissan India has outlined an ambitious product roadmap for the next two years, confirming the launch of three new vehicles by 2027. The announcement was made alongside the final teaser of its upcoming MPV, Gravite, and signals a renewed focus on strengthening Nissan’s presence in the Indian market. Once these launches are complete, Nissan’s India portfolio will grow to four models, starting from the Magnite, which is currently its sole offering.
MY2026 Nissan Magnite to Kick Off Expansion
The first step in Nissan India’s product expansion will be the introduction of the MY2026 Magnite. This updated version of the compact SUV is expected to receive a refreshed feature list, while retaining its existing design and mechanical package.
Positioned against rivals such as the Renault Kiger and Maruti Fronx, the updated Magnite will continue to target the highly competitive sub-4m SUV segment. Nissan is expected to roll out this update ahead of the launch of the Gravite MPV, which is scheduled to reach showrooms in March 2026.
Nissan Tekton Mid-Size SUV to Debut in February 2026
Ahead of the Gravite’s price announcement, Nissan will unveil its all-new mid-size SUV, named Tekton, in February 2026. The Tekton will compete in the popular mid-size SUV segment, going up against established players like the Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Tata Sierra.
Built on the CMF-B platform shared with the next-generation Renault Duster, the Tekton is expected to offer similar powertrain options. Design teasers suggest strong visual inspiration from Nissan’s global Patrol SUV, while the interior will feature a distinctive three-tone dashboard layout.
New Nissan 7-Seat SUV Confirmed for 2027
Nissan India has also confirmed the launch of an all-new 7-seat SUV in 2027. While it will be underpinned by the same CMF-B architecture as the Tekton, Nissan has clarified that this model will not simply be a stretched or reworked version of the mid-size SUV.
According to Nissan India’s managing director, Saurabh Vatsa, the upcoming 7-seater will be a distinctly different product. This approach mirrors strategies seen with models like the Hyundai Creta and Alcazar, where both vehicles share a platform but differ significantly in wheelbase, design and overall positioning.
The Nissan 7-seat SUV will be closely related to Renault’s upcoming three-row offering, widely expected to be the Boreal or Bigster, but with clear visual and feature-level differentiation.
Nissan India’s Dealership and Network Expansion
Alongside its product offensive, Nissan India is planning a major expansion of its sales and service network. The brand currently operates around 150 dealerships across the country. This number is expected to increase to 200 outlets by the time the Tekton goes on sale, and further expand to 250 dealerships by the launch of the 7-seat SUV.
In addition, Nissan aims to significantly boost its workforce, increasing sales and service personnel from around 800 at present to nearly 3,000 by 2027.
Stronger Focus on the Indian Market
With three new launches, a growing dealer network and increased manpower, Nissan is clearly repositioning itself for long-term growth in India. The upcoming Magnite update, Tekton SUV and new 7-seat SUV are expected to play a crucial role in rebuilding the brand’s footprint and competitiveness in one of the world’s most important automotive markets.
