Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s leading car manufacturers, introduced its latest addition to the lineup in April 2023—the Maruti Fronx. This coupe-SUV is based on the popular Baleno hatchback and initially launched with two petrol engine options. However, Maruti has now expanded the choices by introducing a CNG powertrain, making it the 15th Maruti model to offer a CNG option.
The Fronx CNG variant is available in two trim levels: Sigma and Delta. The prices for the petrol-manual and CNG-manual variants are as follows:
Fronx CNG Price
Variant | Petrol-manual | CNG-manual | Difference |
Sigma | Rs 7.46 lakh | Rs 8.41 lakh | + Rs 95,000 |
Delta | Rs 8.32 lakh | Rs 9.27 lakh | + Rs 95,000 |
The CNG powertrain in the Maruti Fronx is only available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 77.5PS of power and 98.5Nm of torque.
These CNG variants are exclusively paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of 28.51 km/kg for the Fronx CNG. In petrol mode, the engine generates 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque, with the option of a 5-speed AMT (automatic manual transmission) available in the regular variants.
