Maruti e-Vitara: All You Need to Know

The Maruti e-Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first fully electric SUV for the Indian market. Positioned in the midsize EV segment, it prioritises long-range capability, strong charging support and flexible ownership plans.

Powertrain, Battery Options and Range

The e-Vitara is offered with two battery pack options:

  • 49 kWh battery

  • 61 kWh battery

The larger 61 kWh unit delivers an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km, placing the model among the longest-range electric SUVs currently planned for sale in India. Both variants come with a front-wheel drive configuration, targeting maximum efficiency and ease of use in daily driving conditions.

Pricing and Variants

The model is expected to be priced between ₹19.06 lakh and ₹24.42 lakh (on-road).
The lineup includes three trims:

  • Delta – paired with the 49 kWh battery

  • Zeta – paired with the 61 kWh battery

  • Alpha – premium trim with the 61 kWh battery and additional features

Standard features include:

  • Disc brakes at front and rear

  • Power windows

  • Sunroof

  • Rear AC vents

The e-Vitara has also been confirmed to have achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, providing strong occupant protection credentials.

Charging Infrastructure and Ownership Options

Maruti Suzuki is backing the e-Vitara with an extensive charging network:

  • Over 2,000 charging stations across 1,100+ cities

  • Partnerships with 13 charging point operators (CPOs)

  • Target of 1 lakh charging points by 2030, jointly established with dealers and CPOs

Charging access is integrated through the ‘e For Me’ app, with Maruti claiming charger availability every 5 to 10 km in key zones. Additionally, the company has set up 1,500 EV-ready workshops for service and maintenance.

The e-Vitara will also be available through subscription plans and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), offering lower upfront purchase costs and flexible ownership.
