Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR launched at Rs 9.10 lakh

Kawasaki has officially launched the Ninja ZX-4RR in India, pricing it at Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This follows shortly after the company teased the higher-spec variant of the Ninja ZX-4R on their Indian website.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Specifications and Features

The Ninja ZX-4RR is powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces 77hp at 14,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm. With the RAM air intake, the peak power output increases to 80hp, emphasizing the need to rev the engine high to tap into its full potential.

Although the ZX-4RR shares its mainframe with the standard ZX-4R, it boasts significantly enhanced suspension features. The front fork is preload-adjustable, while the monoshock at the rear is fully adjustable. Additionally, the ZX-4RR includes a bidirectional quickshifter as standard, a feature that is optional on the ZX-4R. The bike also sports Kawasaki’s signature Racing Green color scheme, which complements its aggressive design and bodywork.

Both the ZX-4R and ZX-4RR come equipped with a comprehensive electronics suite that includes four riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider (customizable). These modes allow riders to adjust power delivery, traction control, and ABS settings to suit different riding conditions.

Pricing and Market Position

At Rs 9.10 lakh, the ZX-4RR is priced Rs 61,000 higher than the ZX-4R, making it a premium option in the small-capacity sportbike segment. Both models are imported into India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), contributing to their higher price tags. Notably, the ZX-4RR is only Rs 28,000 less expensive than the much larger and heavier Kawasaki Z900.

Competition

Currently, the ZX-4RR faces little direct competition. The Triumph Daytona 660 is the closest rival, but it has yet to go on sale in India despite being listed on Triumph’s Indian website. Additionally, Honda has filed a patent for the 2024 CBR650R, but this model is not yet available in the Indian market.

In summary, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR stands out as a high-revving, feature-rich sportbike in India, albeit with a premium price tag reflecting its advanced engineering and import status.
