Hyundai Insteroid Teased: A Radical, Race-Ready Take on the Inster EV

Hyundai has unveiled a teaser for the Insteroid, a bold, one-off racing concept derived from the Inster micro-EV. As the name suggests, the Insteroid is a high-performance, extreme version of the Inster, blending motorsport aggression with a futuristic, gaming-inspired aesthetic. The full reveal is set for early April.

Hyundai Insteroid: Design Highlights

The teaser reveals an aggressive WRC-style double-decker rear wing, giving the Insteroid a dominant presence. Its bodywork is significantly more extreme than the standard Inster, featuring flared fenders, sculpted bumpers, and large aerodynamic air vents.

A wide-arch body kit extends from front to rear, reinforcing its track-focused stance. However, a few signature elements from the Inster EV remain, including the circular LED headlights and pixel-style LED taillights.

Riding on massive 21-inch wheels with aero covers, the Insteroid also features a roof scoop and a striking rear diffuser, further enhancing its motorsport credentials. Inside, the cabin has been completely stripped down, featuring a roll cage and a minimalistic, race-ready setup. Hyundai hints at hidden ‘fun details’ throughout the cockpit, including the control buttons and instrument cluster.

Performance and Specs

Hyundai has yet to reveal technical specifications, but the concept’s extreme styling suggests significant upgrades over the standard Inster. More details, including a full look at the exterior and interior, will be unveiled next month.
