Honda Built a Pokemon That’s Actually a Motorcycle

February 27th marked Pokémon Day—a celebration that may have flown under the radar for some, but certainly not for Honda. To honor the occasion, the company unveiled the Honda Koraidon Project, a striking concept motorcycle inspired by Koraidon, the legendary Fighting/Dragon-type Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet.

This ambitious one-off design captures the essence of Koraidon with bold, game-accurate colors and aggressively sculpted features. It even matches the Pokémon’s in-game proportions, standing 8 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 668 pounds, just as listed in the official Pokédex.

A Shape-Shifting Tribute to Pokémon

Honda isn’t the first automaker to celebrate Pokémon Day—Toyota introduced a Miraidon-themed concept in 2024—but its approach is just as bold. The Koraidon bike doesn’t just look the part; it embraces the Pokémon’s in-game abilities. Just like its digital counterpart, the motorcycle is designed to shift between different movement styles, mimicking Koraidon’s Limited Build (walking mode), Sprinting Build (high-speed running), Swimming Build (aquatic travel), and Gliding Build (aerial movement).

Perhaps the most impressive feature is its self-balancing technology, which allows the bike to stand upright even when stationary. Honda also envisions moving mechanical components, including articulated hands, a flexible neck, and expressive eyes that react to acceleration—bringing the creature to life in an unprecedented way.

Where to See the Koraidon Motorcycle

For now, the Koraidon Project is purely an exhibition piece rather than a functional ride. Pokémon fans and motorcycle enthusiasts can see it up close at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo from March 7 to March 9. While it may not hit the streets anytime soon, it’s a fascinating glimpse into the future of themed mobility—and a dream come true for Pokémon lovers.
