Honda 0 Series Electric SUV Confirmed for India Launch in 2026

Honda has officially announced that its upcoming 0 Series electric SUV will arrive in India in 2026. The all-new model will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is expected to serve as a technology flagship for the brand in the country.

A New Era of Electric Mobility

The Honda 0 Series SUV made its global debut as a prototype at CES 2025 and represents a new chapter in Honda’s global electrification strategy. Built on a dedicated born-electric platform, the SUV will be the first model in Honda’s new 0 Series lineup. The production version is slated to launch first in North America, before reaching other international markets, including India.

Distinctive Design Inspired by Space Hub Concept

The upcoming SUV draws heavy inspiration from the Space Hub concept showcased at CES 2024. It features a futuristic and unconventional design, highlighted by a boxy rear section and MPV-like proportions. This layout is aimed at maximising interior room and passenger comfort. The large glasshouse further enhances cabin visibility and gives the SUV a light, airy feel.

Tech-Focused Interior and Software-Defined Features

Honda has revealed that the 0 Series SUV will be a software-defined vehicle (SDV) — a first for the brand. It will come equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems, automated driving capabilities, and a next-generation infotainment system powered by Honda’s new ASIMO OS.
The proprietary ASIMO operating system will seamlessly integrate multiple electronic control units (ECUs), manage vehicle systems and assist features, and enable over-the-air (OTA) updates, ensuring the car remains up to date with the latest technology and performance improvements.

Expected Positioning and Launch Details

While technical specifications and powertrain details are yet to be disclosed, the SUV is expected to feature cutting-edge EV technology, including long-range battery options and rapid-charging capabilities.
In India, Honda plans to position the 0 Series SUV as a premium EV offering, showcasing the brand’s technological prowess rather than focusing on high-volume sales.
