Hero Vida VX2 Go 3.4kWh variant launched at Rs 1.02 lakh

Hero MotoCorp has expanded its electric scooter lineup by introducing a new 3.4kWh battery variant of the Vida VX2 Go. Priced at Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom), this new version sits between the existing 2.2kWh VX2 Go and the higher VX2 Plus, offering a compelling balance between range, performance, and affordability.

More power, longer range

The biggest update to the VX2 Go comes in the form of its dual removable 3.4kWh battery pack, replacing the single 2.2kWh unit from the standard model. This upgrade gives the scooter an IDC-rated range of 142km, while Hero claims a real-world riding range of around 100km on a single charge. The improvement is significant when compared to the 64km real-world range of the smaller-battery variant.

Despite the added capacity, the VX2 Go retains the same 6kW electric motor that produces 26Nm of torque, ensuring peppy acceleration and confident performance in city conditions. The scooter continues to offer two riding modes – Eco and Ride – with a top speed of 70kph.

Familiar design and features

Visually and ergonomically, the VX2 Go 3.4kWh variant remains identical to the 2.2kWh version. It retains the same sleek and practical design, comfortable seat height, and accessible floorboard space. While the scooter doesn’t feature a touchscreen or TFT display, it offers essential digital readouts and functional equipment for daily commuting.

Flexible Battery-as-a-Service model

Hero has also made ownership more accessible through its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. Under this model, customers can purchase the VX2 Go 3.4kWh variant for an upfront price of Rs 60,000, while paying a monthly subscription fee for the battery based on usage patterns. This option helps lower the initial investment and makes the Vida VX2 Go an appealing choice for budget-conscious EV buyers.

Price positioning

The new 3.4kWh VX2 Go variant is strategically priced at Rs 1.02 lakh, neatly bridging the gap between the VX2 Go 2.2kWh (Rs 85,000 onwards) and the VX2 Plus (Rs 1.10 lakh onwards). This placement ensures that buyers get an improved range without having to step up to the top-spec model.

Verdict

With the addition of the 3.4kWh variant, Hero’s Vida VX2 range now caters to a broader audience — from daily city commuters to those seeking a little more range confidence. The combination of removable batteries, flexible pricing, and Hero’s after-sales network makes the VX2 Go 3.4kWh a well-rounded contender in India’s growing mid-tier electric scooter market.
