Hero MotoCorp’s electric two-wheeler division, Vida, has surpassed the 1 lakh cumulative sales mark in India, marking a major achievement for the brand less than three years after its debut. The milestone was reached as of August 4, 2025, highlighting the growing acceptance of Vida’s electric scooters in the rapidly expanding EV market.
Vida’s Steady Rise in the EV Market
Launched on October 7, 2022, the Vida brand has sold just under 1.2 lakh units to date, according to data sourced from the Vahan portal. Notably, over 10,500 units were sold in July 2025 alone, setting a new monthly sales record for the company and registering a 107% year-on-year increase. This strong performance also helped Hero Vida secure a 10% market share in India’s electric two-wheeler market for the first time.
With this pace of growth, Vida is now poised to cross 1 lakh annual sales within the 2025 calendar year — a first for the brand.
VX2 Series Drives Momentum
The surge in sales can largely be attributed to the success of the Vida VX2 series. The newly launched VX2 Go and VX2 Plus have attracted attention not just for their features but also for their aggressive pricing, thanks to Hero’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This option dramatically reduces the upfront purchase cost, making the VX2 Go available at Rs 44,990 and the VX2 Plus at Rs 57,990.
These highly competitive prices have made the VX2 among the most affordable electric scooters in the country, intensifying competition within the segment.
Expanding Network and Infrastructure
Alongside strong product appeal, Hero MotoCorp has been rapidly expanding its Vida retail and service network. Vida customers now enjoy access to a network of over 4,500 charging points across India, including those operated by Ather Energy through its Ather Grid. Hero’s early investment in Ather has played a key role in enabling this widespread charging access.
Looking Ahead
With the combined strength of the V2 and VX2 range, Hero Vida is building significant momentum. If current trends continue, the brand is well-positioned to break new sales records by the end of 2025 and further strengthen its place in India’s competitive electric scooter market.
As affordability, accessibility, and awareness increase, Hero MotoCorp’s EV arm appears set to play a much larger role in the Indian mobility landscape.
