Classic Legends to Launch 4 New Motorcycles in FY26

Classic Legends—the company behind Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA motorcycles—is gearing up for a major expansion in FY26. Co-founder Anupam Thareja revealed that the company plans to introduce four new models, strengthen its presence in international markets, and significantly boost sales volumes in the coming fiscal year.

As part of its growth strategy, Classic Legends aims to increase its dealership network from the current 350 outlets to 500 across India. The company also has its eyes set on seven new export markets, signaling a renewed push to establish itself as a serious player in the global mid-capacity motorcycle segment.

A key area of development is a new 450cc platform that the brand is currently working on. While the engine is still in development and not expected to launch within this fiscal, Thareja emphasized the company’s focus on performance rather than engine displacement.

“I’m honestly sick and tired of the CC game. What matters is how the bike rides and performs in real-world conditions,” said Thareja. “Our engines are bulletproof. We’re now refining the ride experience—tuning sprockets, gear ratios, suspension—to bring out the best in our machines.”

Rather than diversifying into new categories, Classic Legends is choosing to refine and elevate its existing lineup of roadsters, adventure tourers, and neo-retro classics. Thareja stressed the importance of sharpening product identity and pricing to better meet rider expectations and market needs.

Currently, Classic Legends offers eight models across its three brands:

  • Yezdi: Roadster, Scrambler, and Adventure

  • Jawa: Five models

  • BSA: Gold Star

Just yesterday, Yezdi launched the updated 2025 Adventure, priced between ₹2.15 lakh and ₹2.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), featuring refreshed styling and added features.

Despite its strong legacy, Classic Legends has encountered several hurdles—ranging from quality control and service issues to pandemic-related disruptions—that have affected its traction in the competitive mid-weight motorcycle space. However, the brand is determined to turn the tide. BSA, for instance, is preparing to introduce a scrambler variant based on its 650cc Gold Star engine, in a move that could broaden its appeal.

With a sharper focus on engineering, customer experience, and international expansion, FY26 could mark a significant turning point for Classic Legends.
