After a dynamic 2023, marked by the launch of the eC3 and the C3 Aircross, Citroen is gearing up to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market in 2024. The French automaker is set to introduce two innovative models: the C3X, a high-riding sedan, and the all-electric eC3 Aircross SUV. Additionally, Citroen plans to enhance the C3 hatch and C3 Aircross with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Here’s a closer look at these upcoming offerings:

Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross (Automatic Variants)

Citroen C3X: A Unique Blend of Sedan and SUV

The C3X, Citroen’s fifth model in India, is set to redefine the midsize sedan segment. It uniquely combines fastback styling with SUV-like ground clearance. Positioned to compete with certain variants of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and VW Virtus, it closely parallels the upcoming Tata Curvv in its high-riding, fastback-like design. The C3X, built on the common modular platform (CMP), will share its equipment list with the C3, eC3, and C3 Aircross. It will feature the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. An electric version is expected to follow shortly after the launch of the ICE model.
Citroen eC3 Aircross: Electrifying the SUV Experience

The eC3 Aircross, slated for release by the end of 2024, is an electric version of the C3 Aircross. Leveraging the CMP platform’s versatility for ICE and electric configurations, the eC3 Aircross is a logical extension of Citroen’s electric portfolio. While the current eC3 hatchback is equipped with a 29.2kWh battery and a 57hp motor, the eC3 Aircross might feature a more powerful battery and motor to accommodate its larger size and weight. The model is expected to be available in both five- and seven-seater configurations.
