BMW F 450 GS Revealed at EICMA 2025: New-Gen Adventure Bike to Be Made in India

BMW Motorrad has officially unveiled the all-new F 450 GS at EICMA 2025, marking its next big step in the middleweight adventure bike segment. With the discontinuation of the G 310 GS, the F 450 GS now serves as the new entry point into BMW’s GS lineup. Notably, this motorcycle will be locally manufactured in India by TVS, reinforcing the BMW–TVS collaboration.

Engine and Performance

Powering the BMW F 450 GS is a newly developed 420cc parallel-twin engine that produces 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. The engine is paired with BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro (quickshifter), allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The stainless-steel exhaust features twin catalytic converters and exits on the right-hand side, adhering to emission norms while maintaining the brand’s signature exhaust note.

Chassis and Dynamics

The F 450 GS tips the scales at 178kg (kerb) and comes equipped with a KYB suspension setup — a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, both offering adjustability for preload and rebound. The braking hardware comprises a Brembo front caliper and a ByBre rear caliper, supported by BMW Motorrad ABS Pro for confident braking even while cornering. Safety features such as Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Dynamic Brake Light further enhance rider protection.

Design and Features

Drawing design inspiration from the larger R 1300 GS, the new F 450 GS sports a quad-LED DRL setup, a golden USD fork, and a sleek, purposeful stance. Riders benefit from a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, adjustable hand levers, and standard heated grips. The bike also features adjustable footrests and levers, allowing a tailored riding position for both on- and off-road use.

Equipment and Comfort

BMW offers the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) — designed to improve riding comfort and reduce fatigue — as standard on the Trophy variant and as an optional fitment on others. This system enhances clutch modulation, especially useful in traffic or technical terrain.

Customisation Options

The F 450 GS can be further personalised through BMW Motorrad’s accessory range, which includes cross-spoke wheels, various seat heights, larger or tinted windshields, handlebar risers, luggage systems, and an aluminium engine guard.

Variants and Features

BMW will offer the F 450 GS in four distinct variants:

  • Basic: Standard model with essential GS equipment.
  • Exclusive: Adds off-road foot pegs, hand guards, engine guard, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, and a clear windshield.
  • Sport: Includes all Exclusive features plus a sport suspension setup for sharper handling.
  • Trophy: The top-spec trim with white hand guards, tinted Rallye windshield, Easy Ride Clutch, aluminium engine guard, sport suspension, and off-road enhancements.

India Launch

The BMW F 450 GS is expected to launch in India soon after its global debut, positioned as a premium yet accessible adventure motorcycle built for riders seeking a mix of capability, technology, and everyday usability. With local production by TVS, competitive pricing is also anticipated, making the new F 450 GS one of the most awaited middleweight ADVs in 2026.
