Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast is gearing up to enter the Indian MPV space with its first all-electric people mover, scheduled for a mid-April 2026 launch. The model will be marketed under two different names — ‘Limo Green’ for fleet operators and ‘VF MPV 7’ for private buyers.
Positioned as a practical three-row electric MPV, the VF MPV 7 will rival upcoming models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S and BYD eMax 7 in India’s growing EV segment.
Design & Exterior Highlights
The VinFast VF MPV 7 carries the brand’s signature futuristic design language, similar to its global siblings like the VF6 and VF7.
- Full-width LED light bars at the front and rear
- Vertically stacked headlamps
- Aerodynamically designed alloy wheels
- Boxy silhouette for improved cabin space
Unlike sleeker EV crossovers, this MPV prioritises maximum interior room and practicality, making it ideal for both families and fleet use.
Interior & Cabin Layout
Key interior highlights:
- 7-seater configuration (global model)
- Large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Floating centre console
- Clean dashboard layout with minimal physical buttons
Interestingly, the global version skips a traditional instrument cluster. For India, VinFast may introduce a head-up display (HUD) to relay driving information.
Features & Safety Equipment
The feature list is expected to strike a balance between affordability and practicality:
- 10.1-inch infotainment system
- 4-speaker audio system
- Automatic climate control
- Steering-mounted controls
- Electronic parking brake
Safety features:
- 4 airbags
- ABS with EBD
- Standard driver assistance basics
Battery, Performance & Range
- Battery pack: 60.13kWh
- Motor: Front-mounted electric motor
- Power output: 204hp
- Torque: 280Nm
- Claimed range: Up to 450km (NEDC cycle)
Charging:
- 80kW DC fast charging
- 10–70% charge in approximately 30 minutes
The India-spec model is expected to offer similar specifications, making it competitive in its segment.
Ownership Benefits & Warranty
VinFast is planning an aggressive ownership package to attract Indian buyers:
- 75% buyback value (based on ex-showroom price)
- ₹2 lakh incentive for switching from ICE vehicles
- Free charging benefits until 2029
- 10-year vehicle warranty
Additionally, the company aims to establish 75 touchpoints across India by end-2026, strengthening its sales and service network.
Rivals in India
The VF MPV 7 will compete in the emerging electric MPV/SUV space against:
- Kia Carens Clavis EV
- Mahindra XEV 9S
- BYD eMax 7
Final Take
With a practical 7-seat layout, strong claimed range, and aggressive ownership benefits, the VinFast VF MPV 7 could shake up India’s electric family car segment. If priced competitively, it has the potential to appeal to both private buyers and fleet operators looking for a spacious, eco-friendly alternative.
VinFast’s India entry strategy clearly focuses on value, long-term ownership benefits, and rapid expansion, which could make it a serious new player in the EV market.
