Triumph has introduced an updated version of its flagship Tiger 1200 in India, priced from Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch comes over two years after the previous Tiger 1200 made its Indian debut.
The latest Tiger 1200 retains its distinctive T-Plane triple-cylinder engine configuration—a shift that brought more character and torque compared to its predecessor’s smoother three-cylinder setup. However, the T-Plane engine also introduced added vibrations, which Triumph has aimed to reduce with this update, enhancing both refinement and comfort.
The 1,160cc engine continues to deliver 150hp and 130Nm of torque, but several modifications—including updates to the crankshaft, alternator, balancer shaft, and engine calibration—now provide smoother torque delivery at lower RPMs. Additionally, an upgraded clutch enhances the ease of first-gear engagement.
In terms of comfort, the GT Pro and Rally Pro variants inherit damped handlebars and risers from the premium Explorer models, designed to minimize vibrations. Both versions also feature redesigned, flatter seats that offer more room, while an optional low seat lowers the height by 20mm—down to 830mm on the GT Pro and 855mm on the Rally Pro. New to the range, the Active Preload Reduction feature decreases rear suspension preload as the bike slows, further reducing seat height by up to 20mm.
For improved handling, the GT Pro and GT Explorer models now offer increased cornering clearance, thanks to repositioned footpegs placed higher and closer to the bike.
Pricing for the Tiger 1200 lineup has seen a modest increase of Rs 19,000. The GT Pro starts at Rs 19.39 lakh, the Rally Pro at Rs 20.38 lakh, the GT Explorer at Rs 20.88 lakh, and the Rally Explorer tops the range at Rs 21.88 lakh (all ex-showroom).
