Triumph has officially launched the all-new Daytona 660 in India, priced at ₹9.72 lakh. This new model enters the market to compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 650, priced at ₹7.16 lakh, and the Aprilia RS 660, which is available at ₹17.74 lakh.

Key Highlights:

  • Priced Higher than Tiger Sport 660: The Daytona 660 is priced ₹27,000 above the Tiger Sport 660 in India.
  • More Power than Naked and Adventure Siblings: Produces 95 hp and 69 Nm, surpassing the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660.

Daytona 660: Engine and Performance

The Daytona 660 is powered by a 660cc inline three-cylinder engine, shared with the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. However, in the Daytona, this engine is tuned to its highest specification, generating 95 hp at 11,250 rpm and 69 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. This is 14 hp and 5 Nm more than its naked and adventure-styled counterparts. While it falls short of the power output of the earlier Daytona 675, Triumph emphasizes that the Daytona 660 is designed to be more rider-friendly and comfortable.

Despite the power boost, the Daytona 660 is 12 kg heavier than the Trident 660 but 5 kg lighter than the Tiger Sport 660. The bike has a seat height of 810 mm, which is 25 mm lower than the Tiger Sport 660 and 5 mm taller than the Trident 660.

Features and Specifications

The Daytona 660 is available globally in three colors: Snowdonia White, Satin Granite, and Carnival Red. It also features a 14-litre fuel tank, the same capacity as the Trident 660.

Price Positioning

While the Daytona 660 is priced slightly lower than the Tiger Sport 660 globally, in the Indian market, it costs ₹27,000 more. It is also ₹1.60 lakh more expensive than the Trident 660. Interestingly, the more powerful Street Triple 765 R is priced only ₹45,000 higher than the Daytona 660, despite offering significantly better performance and higher-spec components.

Competition

The Triumph Daytona 660 competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Aprilia RS 660, and upcoming models like the Honda CBR650R and Suzuki GSX-8R, carving a niche for itself with its unique blend of performance, comfort, and style.
