Toyota has updated the Glanza hatchback with a major safety boost — all variants of the car now come equipped with six airbags as standard. This update applies to all four trims — E, S, G, and V — making the Glanza one of the few hatchbacks in its segment to offer this level of safety across the board.
Despite the added safety feature, prices for the Glanza remain unchanged. The model continues to be priced from ₹6.9 lakh to ₹10.0 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Previously, the base and mid variants did not get six airbags; only the G and V trims had them, starting from ₹8.82 lakh.
New Dealer-Level Prestige Edition Also Introduced
In addition to the safety update, Toyota has introduced a new “Prestige Edition” for the Glanza. This is a dealer-installed accessory pack available only on the petrol-manual variants. Inspired by the recently launched Hyryder Prestige Package, this edition adds a touch of cosmetic flair to the hatchback.
The Prestige Edition includes:
-
Chrome accents on the ORVMs, fenders, taillights, front grille, and rear bumper
-
Side mouldings with black and chrome detailing
-
Door visors
-
Illuminated door sills
Powertrain Options Remain the Same
The Glanza continues with the same engine and transmission choices. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 90hp. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox (₹6.9 lakh to ₹9.82 lakh) or a 5-speed AMT (₹8.34 lakh to ₹10.0 lakh). A factory-fitted CNG version is also available, priced between ₹8.69 lakh and ₹9.72 lakh.
With the addition of six airbags across all variants and the new Prestige Edition, the Toyota Glanza strengthens its appeal as a premium and safe hatchback in the Indian market.
