Tata Punch Facelift Powertrain Options

New 1.2-litre Turbo-Petrol Engine

The biggest upgrade is the introduction of a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine borrowed from the Nexon.

  • Power: 120hp

  • Torque: 170Nm

  • Gearbox: 6-speed manual

  • 0–100kph: 11.1 seconds (claimed)

This new engine directly addresses complaints about the earlier model’s performance. However, Tata has skipped offering an automatic gearbox with the turbo unit, likely to avoid overlap with the Nexon.

Existing Petrol and CNG Engines Continue

  • 1.2-litre NA petrol: 88hp / 115Nm (5-speed MT & AMT)

  • 1.2-litre petrol-CNG: 73hp / 103Nm (5-speed MT & new AMT option)
