Royal Enfield has expanded the Hunter 350 lineup in India with the introduction of a new Base Premium variant, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). Positioned as a more feature-rich alternative to the entry-level trim, this new variant aims to offer better value while keeping costs in check.
What’s New in the Base Premium Variant?
The biggest upgrade in the Base Premium is the inclusion of alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, a feature missing from the standard Base variant. This makes it a more practical choice for everyday riders, especially in urban conditions.
- 17-inch cast alloy wheels
- Tubeless MRF tyres
- Front: 100-section
- Rear: 120-section
- Available exclusively in black colour
- Kerb weight: 177kg
While the tyre sizes remain identical to the Base variant, they are slimmer compared to the wider 110/140-section tyres seen on higher trims.
Improved Lighting and Features
Royal Enfield has also upgraded the lighting setup on this variant. The Base Premium gets a more powerful 54W halogen headlamp, which offers better illumination than the unit found on the standard Base trim.
Additional features include:
- Pilot lamp integrated into the headlight
- USB Type-C charging port mounted near the handlebar
- Familiar semi-digital instrument cluster
However, the USB charger remains slower compared to the one offered in higher-spec variants.
Engine and Hardware Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the Base Premium stays identical to the rest of the Hunter 350 range. It continues to use the trusted 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, delivering:
- 20hp of power
- 27Nm of torque
The bike is built on the same chassis and retains its braking setup:
- 300mm front disc brake
- 153mm rear drum brake
- Single-channel ABS
Variant Positioning and Pricing
The new Base Premium variant sits just above the Base Factory Black trim, making it the second most affordable Hunter 350 you can buy.
Updated Hunter 350 Price Range:
- Base variant: Rs 1.38 lakh
- Base Premium: Rs 1.50 lakh
- Top variants: Up to Rs 1.70 lakh
The higher trims also get new colour options such as Moonshot White and Mumbai Yellow, adding more visual appeal to the lineup.
Should You Consider It?
The Hunter 350 Base Premium strikes a sweet spot for buyers who want the affordability of the base variant but with the added convenience of alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. For a relatively small price increase, it offers a meaningful upgrade in usability and practicality.
Prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
