Ola Electric Mobility Ltd has announced the resignation of two key executives—Chief Technology and Product Officer Suvonil Chatterjee and Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal. Both departures, attributed to personal reasons, will be effective from December 27, as stated in the company’s regulatory filing.
The resignations coincide with a pivotal period for Ola Electric, as the company accelerates its shift to the Gen 3 platform for its electric scooters. Initially scheduled for an August launch, the rollout has been advanced to January. The Gen 3 platform promises a 26% performance boost and over 20% cost reduction compared to the current Gen 2 models.
Ola Electric has also been expanding its service network to enhance customer support, signaling its commitment to scaling operations despite leadership changes.
Background of the Departing Executives
Suvonil Chatterjee joined Ola in 2017 as Head of Design and later assumed the role of CTO for Ola Electric in November 2022. His previous experience spans notable companies such as Flipkart, Housing.com, and Unacademy.
Anshul Khandelwal, who joined Ola in 2018 to lead marketing and revenue for its Foodpanda division, became the Head of Marketing at Ola Electric in May 2022. His professional journey includes roles at BlueStone.com, 3M India, and upGrad.
