Next-Gen Kia Seltos Spotted: Major Redesign Set for 2025 Launch

Kia has commenced global testing of the highly anticipated second-generation Seltos, expected to make its official debut in 2025. Originally launched in 2019, the Seltos will soon undergo a comprehensive upgrade, aimed at redefining its position in the competitive compact SUV segment.

Next-Gen Kia Seltos: Design Insights from Spy Shots

Spy images of the upcoming Seltos reveal that while the SUV’s overall size and shape are close to the current model, its front and rear styling show significant evolution. The prototype, though heavily camouflaged, reveals redesigned front and rear facades, including newly styled headlamps and tail-lights. The rear closely resembles the design cues of the Kia EV5 SUV, while the front sports a unique look that sets it apart from any Kia currently on the market.

Up front, the test model’s nose appears more upright, featuring two distinct, squared headlamp units with LED daytime running lights. The front grille, which is rectangular with vertical slats, suggests a bold new design direction for the next-generation Seltos, though final design details may vary.

Powertrain Possibilities for the Next-Gen Kia Seltos

While official powertrain specifics remain unconfirmed, it’s anticipated that Kia will offer a versatile lineup, including turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, along with a potential hybrid option. Kia has previously indicated interest in expanding its petrol-hybrid offerings, making it plausible that a hybrid variant of the Seltos could eventually reach the Indian market.

India Launch Timeline for the All-New Kia Seltos

According to industry sources, the all-new Seltos is likely to have a global debut in the second quarter of 2025, with an expected arrival in the Indian market by late 2025 or early 2026, competing directly with models like the Hyundai Creta.

Before the new Seltos, Kia has an ambitious lineup planned for India next year, including a brand-new compact SUV (codenamed AY) set to launch first, followed by a facelifted Carens and the Carens EV by mid-2025.
