TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of its Jupiter 125, with teaser images already making rounds on the brand’s model-specific Instagram handle. This comes as the Jupiter range hits an impressive cumulative sales milestone of 76.49 lakh units by April 2025 — a testament to its growing popularity in the Indian scooter market.
TVS Jupiter’s Market Success
First introduced as a 110cc model, the Jupiter later expanded into the 125cc segment and has since emerged as a key player in the commuter scooter space. In April 2025 alone, the Jupiter lineup clocked sales of 1,02,588 units, marking a robust 33% year-on-year growth. With 11,07,285 units sold in FY25, the Jupiter secured its best-ever annual sales figure, accounting for 61% of TVS’ overall scooter sales and 31% of the Indian scooter market’s record numbers.
Festive October 2024 marked the scooter’s highest monthly sales, with 1,09,702 units sold. The Jupiter has also maintained its status as TVS’ top-selling two-wheeler, outperforming the Apache series, Raider 125, NTorq 125, and even the XL 100 moped.
New Jupiter 125: What to Expect
The upcoming Jupiter 125 is expected to receive a significant styling refresh, borrowing cues from its 110cc sibling but with sharper, more modern elements. TVS promises a “bold new look” along with improved style, power, and performance, suggesting possible mechanical or tech enhancements.
While full specifications are still under wraps, the current Jupiter 125 is powered by a 124.8cc engine delivering 8.1hp and 10.5Nm of torque. It is offered in three variants, with prices (ex-showroom Mumbai) ranging from Rs 88,496 to Rs 99,100 for the top-end SmartXonnect version. Meanwhile, the more affordable Jupiter 110 starts at Rs 79,591.
What Lies Ahead
TVS is also exploring alternative fuel options, with a CNG-powered Jupiter variant reportedly in the pipeline, aiming for launch later this year. The company appears to be strategically expanding its portfolio to stay competitive against rivals like the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, and Hero Destini 125.
As anticipation builds around the new Jupiter 125, it’s clear that TVS is betting big on the model to continue driving its dominance in the growing 125cc scooter segment.
