The highly anticipated facelifted Kia Seltos is set to be launched early next month. Kia has recently released its first official teaser, giving us a glimpse of the interior updates. Here’s what we can expect:
Interior Updates
The teaser starts by showcasing the outside rearview mirror (ORVM) and the sleek new LED daytime running lights (DRLs). However, the most significant part of the teaser reveals the interior of the updated Seltos. The compact SUV will feature an integrated display setup with a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital driver’s display. While the steering wheel remains largely unchanged, the dual-zone climate control unit below the new central AC vents has received a redesign.
Exterior Updates
The teaser also provides a sneak peek at the new LED tail lamps of the facelifted Seltos, adding to its refreshed appearance.
Confirmed Features
Several spy shots have confirmed that the facelifted Seltos will include features like a panoramic sunroof and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Additionally, it will retain popular features from the previous model, such as ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Powertrain Options
It is expected that the new Seltos will retain the current engine options. This includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine (115PS/144Nm) with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116PS/250Nm) paired with either a 6-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
There are also rumors of a potential addition to the powertrain lineup, which could be a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine replacing the discontinued 1.4-litre unit. This turbocharged engine, already featured in the Kia Carens, generates 160PS and 253Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Price and Competition
Kia is expected to launch the facelifted Seltos on July 4, with an anticipated starting price of around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, and the upcoming Honda Elevate.
Overall, the facelifted Kia Seltos brings significant updates to its interior, while retaining popular features and offering a range of engine options to cater to different preferences.
