Mini has introduced the high-performance Countryman JCW (John Cooper Works) All4 in India, priced at ₹64.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the arrival of the first internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the new-generation Countryman in the country, following the launch of its all-electric sibling — the Countryman Electric — in July 2024. Bookings for the JCW variant opened on September 22, and it primarily rivals the Volkswagen Golf GTI in India’s niche hot crossover segment.
Performance & Powertrain
At the heart of the new Countryman JCW lies a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 300hp and 400Nm of torque. Power is channelled through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to all four wheels via Mini’s All4 all-wheel-drive system.
This setup enables the sporty crossover to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250km/h. Despite its performance credentials, Mini claims an impressive fuel efficiency figure of 15.4km/l. The car also features adaptive suspension, ensuring a balance between dynamic handling and everyday comfort.
Exterior Design: Sporty Yet Sophisticated
The JCW treatment brings an aggressive new look to the Countryman. It sports a chequered black grille, reprofiled bumpers, and red accents across the body — including on the roof, brake calipers, and trim elements. The SUV rides on striking 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, while quad exhaust pipes and a larger roof spoiler amplify its athletic stance.
Other details include JCW badges on the C-pillars, black ‘COUNTRYMAN’ lettering on the tailgate, and three rich exterior shades — British Racing Green, Legend Grey, and Midnight Black. Buyers can further personalise the look with roof and mirror cap options in either red or black.
