MG Motor India has officially confirmed that the MG Majestor will be launched in India on February 12, 2026. Set to become the brand’s new flagship SUV, the Majestor will sit above the Gloster in MG’s lineup and target buyers looking for a full-size, premium, three-row SUV with strong road presence and advanced features.
First showcased at Auto Expo 2025, the Majestor has since been spotted multiple times on Indian roads during testing, hinting that the production-spec model is now close to market readiness.
Design: Bold and Commanding SUV Stance
The MG Majestor takes clear inspiration from the internationally sold Maxus D90, and that influence is immediately visible in its muscular design.
Up front, the SUV features a large, upright grille with gloss-black detailing that gives it an imposing look. This is flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps, while slim, eyebrow-style LED DRLs sit above them. The front bumper incorporates rugged black cladding with silver accents, reinforcing the Majestor’s tough, go-anywhere character.
In profile, the SUV continues the theme with chunky wheel-arch cladding, blacked-out door handles and roof rails. It rides on dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels similar in design to those seen on the Gloster. At the rear, connected LED tail-lamps, a black bumper with faux silver skid plate, and twin exhaust outlets complete the premium yet aggressive styling.
Interior and Features: Premium and Tech-Focused
Although MG did not reveal the cabin at the auto show, spy images of test mules indicate that the interior will closely mirror that of the Maxus D90.
The India-spec Majestor is expected to feature:
-
A 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system
-
A 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display
-
A 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel
-
Column-mounted gear selector stalk
Positioned above the MG Gloster, the Majestor is likely to offer even more equipment than MG’s current flagship. For reference, the Gloster already comes with a panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker premium audio system, powered tailgate, and electrically adjustable front seats with heating and driver-seat massage. Expect the Majestor to build upon this feature list to justify its premium positioning.
Powertrain: Proven Diesel Performance
Under the hood, the MG Majestor is expected to share its mechanicals with the Gloster. Power is likely to come from a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 216hp and 479Nm of torque.
This engine is paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels via a 4WD system. Interestingly, the same motor in the China-spec Maxus D90 delivers a higher 500Nm of torque, though MG is expected to stick with the Gloster’s state of tune for India.
Expected Price and Rivals in India
The MG Majestor will be priced above the Gloster, which currently retails between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 42.49 lakh (ex-showroom). As a result, the Majestor will enter the highly competitive premium SUV segment, where it will go up against established rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.
With its bold styling, spacious three-row layout, feature-rich cabin and proven diesel-automatic 4WD setup, the MG Majestor is shaping up to be a strong alternative for buyers looking beyond the usual segment leaders.
