MG Motor is gearing up to unveil its premium all-electric M9 MPV at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025, scheduled to begin on January 17 in New Delhi. The M9 will be the brand’s second high-end electric offering showcased at the exclusive MG Select outlets, following the stylish Cyberster sports car.
India Launch and Expected Pricing
The MG M9, which was first introduced as the Mifa 9 MPV during the 2023 Auto Expo to gauge customer interest, is now slated for an official launch by March 2025. Expected to carry a price tag of around ₹65 lakh (ex-showroom), the M9 aims to compete in the growing luxury MPV segment.
Luxurious Cabin and Features
Designed to offer an opulent travel experience, the MG M9 features a spacious three-row, seven-seater layout with second-row ottoman-style seats, complete with eight massage settings. Additional amenities include:
- Three-zone climate control
- Ventilated seats
- Dual sunroofs
- Powered sliding rear doors
- Rear entertainment displays
- A dedicated touchscreen for the second row
Exterior Design
The M9 embraces a boxy MPV silhouette but incorporates modern design elements that make it distinctive. Its upright front end features a full-width LED light bar integrated with turn signals, while the bumper-mounted headlamps are framed by a chrome trim. The rear sports vertical tail lights with a cascading effect, linked by another LED light bar. Chrome accents and subtle creases add to its premium aesthetic.
Electric Powertrain and Range
Unlike rivals like the diesel-powered Kia Carnival and the petrol-hybrid Toyota Vellfire, the MG M9 boasts a fully electric powertrain. Equipped with a 90kWh battery, the MPV offers a WLTP-claimed range of 430 km, catering to eco-conscious buyers in the luxury segment.
Limited Launch in Key Cities
Initially, the M9 will be available through MG Select outlets in 12 major Indian cities, reflecting MG’s strategic focus on urban luxury markets.
