Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the GLE 300d 4Matic AMG Line, now available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 97.85 lakh. This new variant replaces the previous entry-level diesel option, the 300d, and features a host of AMG-specific enhancements.

What’s New in the GLE 300d 4Matic AMG Line?

The AMG Line variant comes with several aesthetic and functional upgrades:

  • AMG Alloy Wheels: 20-inch wheels in tremolite grey.
  • Enhanced Brakes: Larger, perforated front disc brakes.
  • AMG Styling: Features an AMG front apron with chrome accents, a rear apron with a diffuser-like design, and chrome trim strips.
  • Distinctive Grille: A diamond grille with the iconic Mercedes-Benz star pattern, a single louvre in matt dark grey with chrome inserts, and sportier air inlets.
  • AMG Side Skirts: Painted in the vehicle’s color for a seamless look.

Powertrain Details

The GLE 300d 4Matic AMG Line is powered by the same robust 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine found in its predecessor. This engine delivers 269hp and 550Nm of torque, complemented by a 48V mild-hybrid integrated starter-generator (ISG) that adds an extra 20hp and 200Nm. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the GLE can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 230kph.

Pricing and Competitors

The GLE range now starts at Rs 97.85 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom). It competes with luxury SUVs like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Lexus RX, and Volvo XC90. For those prioritizing comfort, especially for rear-seat passengers, the GLE remains a strong contender.
