Maruti Victoris vs Hyundai Creta: Which Top Variant Offers More?

Maruti has finally stepped into the hotly contested midsize SUV space with the all-new Victoris, positioned squarely against segment leaders like the Hyundai Creta. With prices for the fully loaded Victoris ZXI+ (O) ranging from ₹15.82 lakh to ₹19.99 lakh, Maruti has managed to undercut the Hyundai Creta King, which is priced between ₹17.89 lakh and ₹20.77 lakh (ex-showroom). But which SUV actually gives you more features and value at the top end? Let’s find out.

Powertrain Options: More Choice vs More Efficiency

Hyundai plays the numbers game here, offering five engine–gearbox combinations with petrol, diesel, and turbo-petrol options. The Creta’s lineup goes from a 115hp petrol and 116hp diesel to a 150hp turbo-petrol, paired with manual and automatic gearboxes.

Maruti keeps it simpler with three options – a 103hp petrol (manual or automatic), a 116hp strong-hybrid with an e-CVT, and a petrol-AT with optional AWD, a rarity in this segment. While the Creta brings stronger performance credentials, the Victoris strikes back with segment-leading fuel efficiency – up to 28.65kpl with the hybrid and 19.07kpl even with AWD.

Exterior Features: Subtle Differences

Both SUVs look premium and well-equipped, but a few details set them apart.

  • Victoris ZXI+ (O): Offers fog lamps and three dual-tone paint choices.

  • Creta King: Misses fog lamps but counters with larger 18-inch alloys compared to the Victoris’ 17-inchers.

Hyundai also has the Knight Edition with sportier styling elements, while the Victoris goes for a more practical feature set.

Interiors and Comfort: Hyundai Takes the Edge

Step inside, and both cabins feel tech-rich, but the Creta King pulls ahead in creature comforts.

  • Victoris ZXI+ (O): 10.1-inch touchscreen, head-up display, Dolby Atmos audio, single-zone climate control.

  • Creta King: Bigger 10.25-inch screen, dual-zone AC, rear-seat wireless charger, reclining rear seats, cooled glovebox, and memory function for the powered driver’s seat.

While Maruti’s head-up display is unique, Hyundai packs in a few more everyday conveniences, giving the Creta an advantage here.

Driving Features and Safety: A Close Fight

Both SUVs come with drive modes, terrain modes (on select variants), paddle shifters, and adaptive cruise control as part of their ADAS Level 2 suites. However, there’s a catch:

  • On the Victoris, ADAS and electronic parking brake are limited to the petrol-AT.

  • The Creta King offers the full safety kit across all engine options.

In terms of crash safety, the Victoris enjoys a clear win – it has already secured 5-star ratings in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. The outgoing Creta scored 3 stars in GNCAP testing back in 2022.

Price and Value

  • Victoris ZXI+ (O): ₹15.82 lakh – ₹19.99 lakh

  • Creta King: ₹17.89 lakh – ₹20.77 lakh

The Maruti Victoris undercuts the Creta by over ₹2 lakh at entry, while still offering an expansive feature list and better safety credentials. The Hyundai Creta, though pricier, adds a handful of extra features and broader engine choices that may appeal to performance-oriented buyers.

Verdict

If you want maximum features, engine variety, and comfort extras, the Hyundai Creta King still has the upper hand. But if your priorities are value, fuel efficiency, AWD capability, and crash-test safety, the Maruti Victoris ZXI+ (O) makes a compelling case.
