Maruti Suzuki says that it will update all of its cars so that they meet the new Bharat Stage 6 Phase II emissions rules. All hatchbacks, sedans, MPVs, SUVs, and industrial vehicles made by Maruti Suzuki now meet the new BS6 Phase-II Real Driving Emissions (RDE) standards and can also run on E20 fuel.
The new RDE-compliant Maruti Suzuki cars have an improved On-board Diagnostics (OBD) system that keeps an eye on the car’s emission control systems in real time and alerts drivers if something goes wrong.
The company has also made a big improvement to the safety of the new Maruti Suzuki BS6 Phase II cars by adding an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. ESC is a high-tech safety system that can tell when a driver is losing control of the car in difficult driving situations.
ESC helps the driver keep the car’s grip on the road by making sure that each wheel gets the right amount of power from the engine and stopping force. ESC is available in a wide variety of cars, including hatchbacks, sedans, MPVs, and SUVs.
Chief Technical Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mr. C V Raman, said this about the launch of the updated Maruti Suzuki range: “At Maruti Suzuki, we are always coming up with new and creative ways to cut pollution from our cars. No matter if it has Advanced Dual Jet, Dual VVT, Progressive Smart Hybrid, or Intelligent Electric Hybrid technology.
Incorporating the new BS6 Phase II norms, as the Indian government is trying to do, will go a long way toward controlling emissions from cars for the rest of their lives. During this upgrade, Maruti Suzuki also took the chance to make customers even happier by putting ESC, the best safety function in the world, in our cars. Now, Maruti Suzuki cars and SUVs are safer and better for the environment than ever before.”
Maruti Suzuki makes 15 different kinds of cars, including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, multi-purpose utility vehicles (MUVs), and industrial vehicles. The company just put out the fast SUV FRONX and will soon put out the Jimny SUV, which is a real off-roader.
