Mahindra has dropped the first official teaser of the production-spec BE Rall-E, confirming its debut at the brand’s upcoming Scream Electric event on November 26, where it will be unveiled alongside the new Mahindra XEV 9S. The teaser offers a brief look at the rugged electric SUV’s final design, which stays close to the 2023 concept while adopting several road-ready changes.
Design Preview: Familiar Concept Cues, Now Production-Ready
Front Fascia
The BE Rall-E retains the strong visual identity of the concept, with a scooped bonnet, sharp eyebrow-style LED DRLs, and a bold stance similar to the Pack One Above variant of the BE 6. However, Mahindra has preserved the concept’s distinct circular projector headlamp housings, giving the SUV a unique character. A chunkier front bash plate also adds to its off-road appeal.
Side Profile
From the side, the production version mirrors the concept’s sloping roofline, muscular proportions and crisp creases. But to make it more road-oriented, Mahindra has swapped out the off-road steel wheels for aero-optimised, star-pattern alloy wheels. The rugged roof rack seen on the concept has also been removed for the production model.
Rear Section
At the back, the teaser confirms a roof-mounted spoiler, separate LED light bars (not a single connected unit), and an additional spoiler element above the tail-lamp cluster. An infinity-style emblem on the tailgate adds a fresh design touch. Inside, the visible front headrests appear identical to the ones found in the BE 6.
Mahindra hasn’t revealed drivetrain details yet, but the BE Rall-E is widely expected to borrow its mechanicals from the Mahindra BE 6.
If so, expect two battery packs:
-
59kWh
-
79kWh (ARAI claimed range of up to 683km)
Motor options could include:
-
231hp single-motor RWD
-
286hp single-motor RWD
This setup would put the Rall-E in the upper tier of India’s mass-market EV performance segment.
Interior & Features: Cabin Likely to Mirror the BE 6
While Mahindra has yet to showcase the interior, the SUV is expected to follow the design template of the BE 6. Key expected features include:
-
Dual digital displays (instrument cluster + infotainment)
-
2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated BE branding
-
Aviation-inspired centre console
-
Powered & ventilated front seats
-
Augmented-reality head-up display
-
Driver monitoring camera (also for video calls)
-
360-degree surround camera
-
Powered tailgate
-
Up to 7 airbags
The BE Rall-E’s focus on ruggedness and style means it could sit as a niche off-road-inspired EV with a strong tech quotient.
Market Positioning & Rivals
Although positioned as an off-road-flavoured electric SUV, the BE Rall-E will indirectly compete with mainstream EVs such as:
-
Hyundai Creta Electric
-
Tata Curvv EV
-
MG ZS EV
-
Upcoming Tata Sierra EV
-
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Its concept-derived styling and hardware may allow it to carve out a unique place in India’s growing EV SUV space.
What’s Next?
With the official unveiling set for November 26, Mahindra is gearing up for a major push in the electric SUV segment. The BE Rall-E, with its rugged theme and BE 6-based underpinnings, could become one of the most distinctive EV launches of 2025.
