Mahindra kicked off its Independence Day celebrations with a striking reveal — the BE 6 Batman Edition. Priced at ₹27.79 lakh (ex-showroom), this special edition electric SUV brings Gotham City’s dark allure to Indian roads. Bookings open on August 23 for a token amount of ₹21,000, and the first deliveries are scheduled for September 30, aligning perfectly with International Batman Day. Only 300 units will be produced, making it an exclusive collector’s item.
A Dark Knight-Inspired Makeover
Born from an official collaboration between Mahindra and DC Comics, the BE 6 Batman Edition wears a satin black body that’s paired with gloss-black cladding around the wheel arches and bumpers. The look is intensified with gold accents, including the iconic Batman emblem on the front fenders, hubcaps, rear bumper, windows, and rear windshield.
Even the suspension springs and brake calipers are finished in gold, creating a sharp contrast against the black bodywork. A special “BE 6 X The Dark Knight” badge sits on the tailgate, proudly signalling its limited-edition status.
Cabin Steeped in Gotham Vibes
Inside, the BE 6 Batman Edition continues the dark-and-gold theme. The upholstery gets contrasting gold stitching, while the driver’s seat features a halo-like gold surround. Gold detailing extends to the AC vents, centre console rotary dial, interior door handles, and even the key fob.
Batman logos from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy appear across the seats, dashboard, steering wheel boost button, and interior labels. A numbered limited-edition plaque sits on the centre console, marking each unit’s place in the 300-car production run.
Adding to the drama, the panoramic glass roof houses Dark Knight-themed ambient lighting, puddle lamps project the Bat-Signal onto the ground, and the digital instrument cluster greets you with a Batman-inspired welcome animation.
Electric Power with Long-Range Capability
Underneath the cosmetic enhancements, the Batman Edition is based on the top-spec Pack Three variant of the BE 6. It packs a 79kWh battery, delivering an ARAI-claimed range of 682km. A rear-mounted electric motor produces 286hp and 380Nm of torque. AC charging options include 7.2kW and 11kW units (available at an additional cost).
A Collector’s Dark Edition
With this launch, the BE 6 becomes Mahindra’s first EV to receive a full-fledged Dark Edition treatment — and arguably one of the most striking ones yet. Combining exclusivity, style, and a connection to one of pop culture’s most enduring icons, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition looks set to tempt both EV enthusiasts and Batman fans alike.
