India’s two-wheeler market ended FY2026 on a strong note, with leading manufacturers reporting healthy growth in March. Improved demand, especially in rural markets, along with better supply conditions, helped boost overall volumes across motorcycles and scooters.

Hero MotoCorp stays on top
Hero MotoCorp continued to lead the market with total sales of 5,52,505 units.
- Month-on-month growth: 6.87% (February 2026: 5,16,968 units)
- Year-on-year growth: 9.05% (March 2025: 5,06,641 units)
- Exports: 45,693 units (up from 41,248 units in February)
The brand’s strong commuter motorcycle lineup and wide rural reach remain key drivers of its dominance.
Honda records strong annual growth
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India retained the second position with 5,12,303 units sold.
- Month-on-month change: -0.17%
- Year-on-year growth: 27.63% (March 2025: 4,01,411 units)
- Exports: 36,842 units (down from 54,161 units in February)
Honda continues to see strong domestic demand and is now focusing on expanding its off-road motorcycle portfolio in India.
TVS Motor posts robust performance
TVS Motor Company reported total sales of 3,72,383 units.
- Month-on-month growth: 1.90% (February 2026: 3,65,471 units)
- Year-on-year growth: 25.12% (March 2025: 2,97,622 units)
- Exports: 1,25,751 units (lower than 1,42,391 units in February)
TVS continues to expand its global footprint, with developments around Norton Motorcycles indicating future premium launches.
Bajaj Auto sees strong rebound
Bajaj Auto crossed the 2 lakh mark again, registering 2,21,021 units in March.
- Month-on-month growth: 18.72% (February 2026: 1,86,164 units)
- Year-on-year growth: 20.34% (March 2025: 1,83,659 units)
- Exports: 1,59,452 units (down from 1,93,757 units in February)
Recent product updates, including the return of the Pulsar 180, are expected to further boost sales.
Suzuki maintains steady momentum
Suzuki Motorcycle India recorded 1,05,397 units in March.
- Month-on-month growth: 4.30% (February 2026: 1,01,071 units)
- Year-on-year change: -0.32% (March 2025: 1,05,736 units)
- Exports: 22,830 units (slightly higher than February’s 22,228 units)
Suzuki continues to benefit from consistent demand in the scooter segment.
Royal Enfield crosses 1 lakh sales
Royal Enfield posted 1,00,406 units in March.
- Month-on-month growth: 10% (February 2026: 91,248 units)
- Year-on-year growth: 14.03% (March 2025: 88,050 units)
- Exports: 11,928 units (up from 9,657 units in February)
The company is also entering the electric space with its Flying Flea C6, marking a new direction for the brand.
