Ducati India Prices Surge by up to ₹2.80 Lakh After GST Hike

The recent GST overhaul has proved a mixed bag for India’s two-wheeler industry. While mass-market motorcycles under 350cc benefit from reduced taxation, premium brands with bigger engines are facing a steep hike. Ducati, whose entire range in India displaces more than 350cc, has been among the hardest hit.

With the new 40 percent GST slab in effect, prices of Ducati motorcycles have gone up across the board, ranging from around ₹68,000 to nearly ₹2.8 lakh. This revision now means there isn’t a single Ducati on sale in India priced below ₹10 lakh.

Key Highlights of the Price Hike

  • Entry-level Ducati now above ₹10 lakh: The Scrambler Icon Dark, previously the most accessible Ducati, now starts at ₹10.65 lakh.

  • Top-end models breach ₹40 lakh: The flagship Multistrada V4 RS has climbed to ₹43.46 lakh, marking the steepest increase of ₹2.79 lakh.

  • Popular mid-range models approach ₹20 lakh: Motorcycles such as the Streetfighter V2 and DesertX now hover close to the ₹20 lakh mark.

  • Wider range affected: Ducati currently retails more than 20 models in India, and every one of them has been impacted.

What’s Next for Ducati in India?

The most expensive Ducati currently on sale is the Multistrada V4 RS at ₹43.46 lakh. However, this could soon be dethroned by the upcoming Panigale V4 R—a homologation special powered by a 998cc V4 engine designed for world-class racing. Ducati traditionally offers such limited-edition models in India, suggesting an even higher price ceiling once it arrives.

Bottom Line

For enthusiasts, Ducati ownership in India has always carried a premium, but the latest GST revision has made it significantly steeper. While rivals with smaller capacity motorcycles benefit, Ducati’s entire big-bike portfolio sits in the highest taxation slab, ensuring premium prices for the foreseeable future.
