Another horrifying drag-and-run occurred in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, when a 22-wheel container truck hit a car and dragged it for almost 3 kilometres while onlookers stared on in horror. Pictures of the Chevrolet Beat hatchback being pushed by the truck at a respectable clip have gone popular on various social media platforms. Thankfully, all four people in the automobile were able to get out of the way in time and escape without major injuries.

Following an incident with the automobile’s occupants, the intoxicated truck driver allegedly pulled the car for a distance of several hundred feet, as reported by eyewitnesses in the area. The allegedly inebriated truck driver then attempted to flee the scene, but was quickly arrested by police.
The hit-and-run happened just one day after a speeding truck killed five people when it collided with a horse-drawn wedding cart in Meerut. Two brothers were among the three persons confirmed dead, while two others were injured, authorities said.
A traffic police constable in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was carried on the bonnet of a car for nearly 2 kilometres just over a week ago, as reported by TOI Auto. There has been a disturbing nationwide increase in reports of such instances, many of which have ended in fatalities. Last month’s infamous hit-and-drag incident in Kanjhawala stunned the entire nation when a woman on a scooter was struck by and dragged under a car, resulting in her death.
